Love? Really? (Workshop poem)

This is my workshop poem. I might put others up before Monday, so I wanted to clarify.
Enjoy

Love? Really?
by AJ Keith

Lies and slander and
Cries of hate to
Me, to you,
To all who want
What you don't.

Where is the love you cherish
So very much?
I can't see it at all.

Unconditional, unhindered,
Unfailing, unwanting--
This is not your love,
It is ours.

Take notes

  1. I really like this poem. I feel like I am there in the argument that the two are having, admist of a break-up. I like how the author is asking kind of rhetorical questions. I like how the poem ends with "take notes." I feel like this is something I would say while yelling/arguing with someone on how relationships would be. I like that it is kind of snide and sarcastic and it feels very real. I like that this poem is susinct and am also very fond of the title. This might be my favorite poem that I have read so far in this class among our classmates. It is very striking and I think the next time I am in a fight and telling someone off by saying "take notes." I honestly wouldnt change anything!
